Animal Crossing New Horizons has been postponed by Nintendo to March 20, 2020. Nintendo announced this during its Direct stream. The Nintendo Switch game was actually supposed to arrive this year. The company showed new images of the game on Tuesday.

Why the latest part of Animal Crossing has been postponed to next March, Nintendo did not say. During the stream, Nintendo just said the game has been delayed so it can get “as good as it gets.”

In Animal Crossing New Horizons, players go to a desert island, where they have only a tent for shelter at the beginning. Among other things, the game adds a crafting system, which gives players the opportunity to build furniture. Furthermore, just like in the previous parts, the player can use different tools to cut trees, catch fish and water the crops, among other things. Also in this part the player does not escape the creditor Tom Nook, who every so often asks the player to pay his debt.

Nintendo made the announcement during its September Direct stream last year that a new Animal Crossing game would be coming. The final game in the main series, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, was released for the Nintendo 3DS on June 14, 2013.
