Android version of Stardew Valley will be released on March 14th
The Android version of indie game Stardew Valley will be released on March 14 and costs nine euros. As with the iOS version, it only deals with the single player portion of the game. The existing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will soon get multiplayer.
Developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone announces release date on Twitter. At the end of last year it was already announced that there would be an Android version of the farm simulation game; the iOS version was already released in October. The handheld version is the same as the versions for other platforms and there are no in-game purchases.
Barone single-handedly created the game, which originally appeared for PC in February 2016. After the PC release, there were also versions for the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation Vita, the Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch. By the end of 2017, a total of 3.5 million copies of the game had been sold.
Barone also recently announced on his blog that multiplayer functionality will be available “in the coming months” for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The Switch version has had a multiplayer mode since late last year, just like the PC game. Whether the versions for Android and iOS will ever get multiplayer is unknown.
Stardew Valley can already be found in the Google Play Store. Interested parties can pre-register to be notified when the game is available.
