Android users report problems with Google keyboard swipe gestures
There are problems with Gboard, the keyboard developed by Google for Android smartphones. Several users report that input via swipe gestures is not working properly, and Google says it is aware of the problems.
The problems have been reported on Twitter and Reddit, among others, according to 9To5Google. Gboard is the keyboard developed by Google for Android. It comes standard on several Android smartphones, and is therefore the default input method for many Android users. Recent user experience shows that swipes are not registered correctly and are not the word the user had in mind. Incidentally, these problems do not occur for all users.
In a response to 9To5Google, Google has indicated that it is aware of the problems and is working on a solution. Users can also try a few things themselves to make the swipe gestures work again: the internet giant recommends restarting the smartphone, or having Gboard force stop.
Gboard is also available for iOS, but the problems seem to be centered around the Android version of the app.
