Android users are more loyal than iOS users
The loyalty of Android users to the operating system of Google is higher than the loyalty of iPhone owners to Apple’s iOS. This is evident from a survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP).
Currently the loyalty of Android users, which has been rising since the beginning of 2016, is higher than ever. The survey shows that 91 percent of Android users stay with this operating system when they buy a new phone, while that for iOS users is 86 percent. In 2013, iOS users were actually more loyal.
One reason why Android users are more loyal is perhaps that they can switch to Android devices from other brands that offer a slightly different user experience. If they want to try something new, they can simply stay with the same operating system.
A side note is that there are more Android users than iOS users. If you look at absolute numbers, the number of people switching from Android to iOS according to CIRP is equal to or higher than the number of people who trade iOS for Android.
