Android Central: OnePlus will also introduce a fitness tracker in 2021
According to sources from Android Central, OnePlus will not only launch a smartwatch this year, but also a fitness tracker. The device should hit the market sometime in the first quarter and compete with products like Xiaomi’s Mi Band series.
According to the site, the fitness tracker will cost around 30 euros and will initially be released in India, followed later by ‘other markets’. The device will also be water resistant, although it is not said to what extent. It also gets an AMOLED screen and a battery that lasts several days. Android Central further states that the release must take place before that of the OnePlus 9, ‘so in January or February’. There are no images of this fitness tracker yet.
Less than two weeks ago, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company will release a smartwatch in 2021. At the time, the company stated that it was working with Google to make improvements to Wear OS, but the company also stated emphatically that it does not confirm that this smartwatch will run on it. According to 9to5Google, the smartwatch will have a round design.
