Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Coming to Xbox One and PS4 on December 6
Evolution and survival game Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will be available on December 6 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the game, the player must survive as a humanoid monkey and learn new properties. The game was previously released for PC.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey begins in Africa 10 million years ago. In the third person game, players control a tribe of humanoid apes and can choose which tribe member to play. The aim of the game is to survive and expand the tribe. Players must eat, drink and sleep enough. Expansion of the tribe is done by new great apes that are added to the tribe from outside, or by entering into family ties and begetting more monkeys through the natural way.
The game also has elements of roleplaying games; over the years the monkeys can evolve. In these evolutions, the monkeys can learn new properties, for example to make tools or weapons that can be used to ward off enemy animals. Players can choose for themselves which properties are chosen. The game takes place in the period from 10 million years to 2 million years before the present.
The idea for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey came from Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets. Before that, he founded the developer studio Panache Digital Games. The game was released for PC on August 27, via the Epic Games Store. It was already known that the game would be released for consoles in December, via the video below publisher Private Division announces that this will happen on December 6. The game costs 40 euros in those stores. A year after the Epic Games Store release, the game will also be available through other PC stores.
