Analysts: Take-Two numbers hint at GTA VI coming for March 2024
Take-Two this week presented its financial expectations until March 2024, which analysts say are so rosy that it would only succeed if a major game is published during that time. Analysts therefore suspect that GTA VI will appear at that time.
The publisher expects to have achieved an average growth of fourteen percent until its fiscal year of 2024, the company announced around the acquisition of Zynga. Axios writes based on analysts that this indicates a release of a major game. “Only a handful of titles would give management the confidence that such growth can be achieved,” said a Jefferies analyst. Therefore, this financial services company expects to introduce at least one Rockstar game until 2024.
An analyst from investment firm Cowen thinks the numbers will amount to $9 billion in “gaming-related transactions,” leading him to expect GTA VI to be released in fiscal 2024. That fiscal year runs from April 2023 to March 2024.
It is not the first time that Take-Two figures point to the arrival of a major game in that financial year. A year and a half ago it was announced that the company wanted to double its marketing budget for 2023 and 2024. That was also seen as a harbinger of the arrival of a new GTA game.
Such figures turned out to be good indicators for the arrival of, for example, Red Dead Redemption 2. However, there are also rumors that the game will only be released in 2025. According to those rumors, the game is set in Vice City.
