Analysts: Samsung Galaxy A51 and Xiaomi Redmi 8 are top-selling Androids
The Samsung Galaxy A51 and Xiaomi Redmi smartphones are the Android smartphones that carriers and retailers have purchased the most over the past winter. That is what various analysts calculate. In any case, the list is full of midrange models.
Galaxy A51
Strategy Analytics puts the A51 in first place, while Canalys the Redmi Note 8 and 8T together ranks first among Android models. There are no Android smartphones from other brands in the list: Huawei, Honor, Oppo, Realme, Vivo and OnePlus are missing, for example. The list also includes the Galaxy A10s, A20s, Redmi 8a and Redmi Note 8.
Strategy is the only one to have a high-end model in the list, the S20+. It would therefore sell better than the S20 and S20 Ultra. The lists also differ slightly, although the line is the same: the models between 100 and 300 euros sell the best. Canalys also shows iPhones in its overview; the iPhone 11 comes in first place, the two iPhone 11 Pro models are among the Android midrangers.
This makes the trend similar to last year: when Canalys estimated that the A50 was the best-selling smartphone in Europe. In all cases, it concerns devices that providers and retailers purchase and not necessarily models that they sell.
