Apple will release new iPhones twice a year from next year, claims the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities. It would be more expensive models in the fall and cheaper iPhones in the spring.

Apple would start with the new version of the iPhone 8 next spring and then aim to release at least one new cheaper model every year after that, MacRumors reports based on a report by Kuo. The Taiwanese analyst is known for his early accurate predictions about unannounced Apple products.

Kuo has been talking about a variant of the iPhone 8 with new components for months. It should replace the iPhone SE from 2016 in the line-up. The first iPhones with 5G should appear in the fall. Despite the increased production costs, they will have about the same prices as the current iPhones, Kuo thinks.

Although Apple released new iPhones in the spring and fall in 2016, the manufacturer has never used such a strategy with its main product line before. Since 2016, it has invariably announced all iPhones in September, with a release within a few months of that. Apple has not confirmed the information.
