Analyst: Apple makes iPhone 14 Pro more expensive than iPhone 13 Pro

Apple is making the iPhone 14 Pro more expensive than the iPhone 13 Pro, says TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He does not say how much higher that price will be. Besides inflation, it probably has to do with line-up shifts.

The iPhone 14 Pros get a price hike, says Kuo. It would be the first price increase since the introduction of the iPhone X in 2017, which already cost 1,159 euros when introduced. The iPhone 13 Pro came out last year for the same price. In the United States, Apple has been charging $999 for that iPhone ever since.

The price increase seems to be partly due to the disappearance of the mini version. It is obvious that the cheapest iPhone, which costs 809 euros in the Benelux, will disappear and the new ‘iPhone 14 Max’ costs more than the regular iPhone 14. This would bring the price of the ‘iPhone 14 Max’ closer to that of the Pro come to lie. Now the price difference is 250 euros.

Moreover, according to rumors, there will be more difference between the regular and Pro models. For example, the Pro models are the only ones to get the new design with the holes in the screen for the front camera and Face ID, while the Pro models are also the only ones to have the new Apple soc on board. Apple usually presents its new iPhones in early September, with a release later in the month.
