AMS-IX has a malfunction and is doing a quarter of normal traffic – update
Internet node AMS-IX has a malfunction and is handling a quarter of the normal traffic at the time. No major problems appear to arise.
According to information from the mailing list, the outage occurred at 7:08 PM. The decline in traffic is clearly visible in the public stats of the internet node. While traffic of around 10Tbit/s is normal around that time, it is now 2.5Tbit/s. The graph does not start at 0, which makes it appear in the stats that there is no more traffic passing through the node, but that is incorrect.
Some customers have experienced a short dip, AMS-IX reports. “We are now collecting troubleshooting data to help our supplier identify the root cause as quickly as possible.”
Update, Thursday: The fault was resolved on Wednesday evening around eleven o’clock.
