Apple has released Watchos 11, a big update for your Apple Watch with handy new functions. This is new, and so you download the update!
WatchOS 11 is out
It’s raining updates tonight! In addition to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and MacOS Sequoia, Apple has also released a major update for your Apple Watch: WatchOS 11. In the update, you get a lot of health functions, two brand new apps, a new dial, and more.
You download WatchOS 11 to your Apple Watch via the Watch app on your iPhone. Go to ‘General> Software Update’ and update your Watch. However, your iPhone must first be updated to iOS 18. You also need an Apple Watch Series 6 or newer, an Apple Watch Ultra or Ultra 2, or an Apple Watch SE 2022.
Watchos 11 new functions
WatchOS 11 contains some cool new functions. We list the most important thing for you:
- Two new apps
The translation app, which we already know from the iPhone, is now finally for the Apple Watch. Just translating a sentence on a terrace is so squeezed. Also new is the Vital Functions app, which continuously analyzes your health based on all kinds of values and gives advice when things go in the wrong direction. - New dial
The photo guide plate has received a total makeover and therefore feels like new. It is more stylish, easier to set, and light subjects in photos are now extra good. - Condition
With Watchos 11, you can finally pause your activity rings on a rest day (without losing your streak), but also set what your goals are per day of the week. - Workout
The workout app now has support for many more sports and specific workouts for those sports. You can now also set and keep track of interval training.
Do you have an Apple Watch with tap double, so a series 9 or newer or an Ultra 2? Then you get a bonus: with Watchos 11, you can now scroll through many apps with the gesture.
