‘Among Us is the most popular game ever with 500 million active players’

Social deduction game Among Us had 500 million active players in November. This is reported by analyst firm SuperData based on its own research. Never before has a game had so many users actively playing the game.

SuperData states that With its half a billion active players, Among Us is “by far the most popular game ever” in terms of monthly players. Among Us was released in 2018, but did not become popular until mid-2020, as several popular Twitch streamers and YouTube users started playing the game.

Inner Sloth, the developer of Among Us, has had relatively little sales despite the success of the game, according to SuperData. The game is available on PC, Android and iOS, among others. The smartphone versions of Among Us are free, but collectively accounted for 97 percent of the player base in November. The PC version, which costs four euros at the time of writing, accounted for 64 percent of Inner Sloth’s sales between August and November, SuperData reports.

Earlier this month, the game also appeared on the Nintendo Switch, again for four euros. The game was released within 24 hours most sold game in the Nintendo Eshop. The game will also be available for Xbox consoles in 2021. The game was also added to Xbox Game Pass earlier this month. The game will soon get a new playing field.
