American web store mentions the arrival of Google Nest Wifi Pro router with Wi-Fi 6E
An American web store has put information online about a new Nest Wifi Pro router from Google. The router must support Wi-Fi 6E. References to the Nest Wifi Pro have already appeared at the FCC. Google may announce the device in October.
The American webshop B&H Photo recently put pages online for a ‘Google Nest Wifi Pro 6E Router’, noted 9to5Google. According to the product page, the Nest Wifi Pro will receive support for Wi-Fi 6E, which means the router has support for the 6GHz band. In addition, nothing is reported about Point units. Google supplies such Points, which function as a WiFi amplifier with a built-in smart speaker, optionally with the current Nest WiFi. Further specifications of the router are not shared. The web store also does not publish photos of the device, but the page does state that the router should be released ‘soon’.
The new router costs $199 at B&H, but it is not known whether that price is a placeholder. The original 2019 Nest Wifi cost $169 at launch. A package with two Nest Wifi Pro devices for a mesh setup costs $300 at B&H and a set of three costs $400. The router will also be available in different colors, such as white, light blue, beige and yellow.
The Nest Wifi Pro previously appeared at the American FCC. That inspection service did not mention a product name, but did publish documents about a new Nest Wifi router with Wi-Fi 6 and possibly also Wi-Fi 6E. The arrival of this seems to be confirmed by the mentions at B&H Photo, but Google has not yet shared any information about the router.
It is not known when the Nest Wifi Pro will be announced. Google will hold an event on October 6, in which it will officially announce the Pixel 7 series and Pixel Watch. The company previously said that it will also come with new Nest hardware during the presentation.
