AMD stops supporting Gaming Evolved
AMD says it will stop all work on the Gaming-Evolved app, which social networking site Raptr developed. The company has stopped bundling the application with the driver downloads. The reason for the stop is unknown.
The application can still be downloaded from the Raptr website, but is no longer an opt-out with AMD graphics drivers. AMD wrote in an email to WCCFtech that the company stopped bundling the app with Radeon Software on September 12, 2016. The application will continue to work, but AMD will stop testing and provide technical and installation support for this program. The company says that versions of Radeon Software released before September 12 have not been modified and will continue to work with the app. Why AMD is stopping Gaming Evolved, the company does not say.
AMD released the Gaming-Evolved app in collaboration with Raptr in 2013, as a counterpart to Nvidias Geforce Experience. The app is able to keep track of drivers and optimize game graphics settings for the user’s hardware. Furthermore, the application offers the possibility to record games and possibly stream them to Twitch.tv.
