AMD stops support for 32-bit Radeon drivers

Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.9.3 WHQL will be the last driver version AMD releases with 32bit support. Those who are still running a 32-bit version of Windows will not be able to use later drivers.

The support of Radeon software for 32-bit Windows has been put in legacy mode, AMD reports to the Japanese 4Gamer in response to questions about this. “We do not plan to support 32bit Windows in future driver releases,” the company said.

AMD recommends that you consider moving to 64-bit Windows, but also reports that users can continue to use their current 32-bit drivers if they wish. There are still 32-bit versions of Radeon Software Adrenalin 18.9.3 WHQL available, but the RX Vega only has 64-bit versions, VideoCardz notes.

Nvidia announced in December last year that it would stop using 32-bit drivers.
