A German online store has included the Ryzen Threadripper 2990X in its listings and mentions a price of 1509 euros. If that price is right, the new processor with 32 cores is about twice as expensive as the current top model with 16 cores.

It is not known whether the price that the German online store Cyberport mentions is actually correct. It is possible that the webshop itself has put the processor in its listings and has gambled a price. The amount of 1509 euros is about twice the price of the current top model with 16 cores. AMD released the Threadripper 1950X for a suggested retail price of 999 euros, but that processor is now in the Pricewatch for 769 euros.

The Ryzen Threadripper 2990X is believed to be the flagship of the second-generation Threadripper processors. The processor has 32 cores; AMD will also release models with fewer cores, including one with 24 cores.

AMD has not officially announced the Threadripper 2990X yet, but details about this processor appeared online a week ago. The German webshop mentions a clock speed of 3.4GHz and a turbo of 4GHz.

At the Computex trade show in early June, AMD announced that its second-generation Threadripper processors will be released in the third quarter of this year. A full presentation with all the details of the new processors will probably follow in August.
