AMD Ryzen Performance Patches for Windows 11 Coming Next Week
AMD is reportedly releasing a fix on October 19 that should fix the L3 cache problem of the Ryzen CPUs on Windows 11. A fix for the CPPC cores issue should be released two days later.
WCCFtech claims to have information showing that AMD has fixed the issues and will release the fixes next week. These patches should fix most issues that users with Ryzen CPUs are experiencing on Windows 11.
The L3 cache issue will be resolved with a Windows update that will be released on October 19, according to WCCFtech. The CPPC fix should be generally available as a driver update on October 21, but the tech site says AMD can provide the update to individual customers earlier if they specifically request it before then.
When Windows 11 came out last week, it turned out that users with an AMD Ryzen CPU ran into a number of performance problems. For example, the latency of the L3 cache is three times higher than on Windows 10, which causes some programs and games to run 10 to 15 percent slower. In addition, due to a flaw in AMD’s CPPC2 technology, threads in Windows 11 would no longer be automatically processed by the fastest cores of the processor.
AMD previously indicated that it expects to have updates ready sometime in October to solve these problems. The company advised customers to continue using the Windows 10 operating system until then.
