Iranian site Sakhtafzarmag has shared specifications and benchmarks of the upcoming AMD Ryzen 8000G APUs, also known as the Phoenix series. The site reports that the APUs deliver up to 2.5 times better gaming performance compared to the Ryzen 5000G series.

The Ryzen 8000G APUs reportedly use Zen 4 architecture for the CPU and RDNA 3 architecture for the GPU. The APUs are supported on AM5 motherboards. An image on the Iranian site suggests that AMD wants to release both a standard and pro variant of the chips. However, the 2.5x performance gain could be achieved in exceptional cases. The standard would be a 2x performance boost.

The AMD Ryzen 8700G is reportedly the flagship, with 8 cores, 16 threads, a base clock speed of up to 4.2GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 5.1GHz. The Ryzen 5 8600G has 6 cores, 12 threads and a base clock speed of up to 4.35GHz and a boost clock speed of up to 5GHz. The Ryzen 3 8300G would have 3.45GHz and 4.9GHz. Both APUs are based on the Phoenix 1 chip.

The Phoenix 2 chips include the Ryzen 5 8500G and the Ryzen 3 8300G. The 8500G APU has 6 cores and 12 threads, with a base clock speed of 3.55GHz and a boost clock speed of 5GHz. The 8300G APU has 4 cores and 6 threads, with a base clock speed of 3.45GHz and a boost clock speed of 4.9GHz.

The Ryzen 8000G APUs have a TDP of 65W or 45W, but are also available with a TDP of 35W with lower clock speeds. The AMD Ryzen 8000G series is expected to be announced on January 31, 2024. The APUs may be available from February 11.
