AMD has introduced its first 6nm GPU for desktops. The Radeon RX 6500 XT has a Navi 24-gpu with 16 compute units and a turbo frequency of up to 2.8GHz. The video card will be released on January 19 and will cost $199.

AMD provides the Radeon RX 6500 XT with a Navi 24-gpu consisting of 5.4 billion transistors. The video card has 16 compute units, which is equivalent to 1024 stream processors. The RX 6500 XT also gets a boost clock of up to 2815MHz and a game clock of 2610MHz. This makes it the highest clocked Radeon RX 6000 video card AMD has introduced to date. According to the manufacturer, the RX 6500 XT achieves an fp32 computing power of 5.77Tflops. AMD aims the video card at 1080p gaming. During a presentation, the company confirms that the GPU used is produced at 6nm.

The video card also gets 4GB GDDR6 memory with 18Gbit/s memory modules on a 64bit memory bus. This gives the video card a memory bandwidth of 144GB/s. AMD also provides the GPU with 16MB Infinity Cache. The typical board power is 107W according to AMD. The manufacturer will release the Radeon RX 6500 XT on January 19. The video card has a suggested retail price of $199.

Update, 17.26: AMD also mentions in its press release the arrival of a Radeon RX 6400, which will only be available for OEMs. This card also gets a Navi 24-gpu, but has 12 compute units and lower clock speeds. Information about this video card has been added to the article.
