AMD releases Radeon RX 6400 in single sale for $159

AMD has made its Radeon RX 6400 desktop graphics card available for retail sale. This 6nm GPU was previously only available in OEM prebuilt PCs. The RX 6400 has a suggested retail price of $159.

AMD has quietly made the Radeon RX 6400 available, so also writes The Verge. Several manufacturers have released models based on this GPU, including ASRock, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire and XFX. AMD has only communicated the suggested retail price of 159 dollars, which amounts to 176 euros including VAT. German tech website ComputerBase notes that variants have now surfaced in Europe from 185 euros. The GPU is mainly available in relatively compact models with a single or dual slot design.

The Radeon RX 6400 is a 6nm GPU based on the RDNA2 architecture. The video card has 12 compute units, for a total of 768 stream processors. AMD sets the game clocks by default at 2039MHz, with a boost frequency up to 2321MHz. In addition, the RX 6400 has 4GB GDDR6 memory on a 64bit memory bus, with a total bandwidth of 128GB/s. The card also has 16MB Infinity Cache. AMD provides the Radeon RX 6400 with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, just like the RX 6500 XT.

AMD previously announced the Radeon RX 6400, along with the higher-ranking RX 6500 XT. Previously, the RX 6400 was only available for OEMs, so they were not available for individual sales. Rumors have been circulating for some time that AMD would later release the RX 6400 separately. According to the same rumors, AMD will soon also release a new series of RX 6000 refresh cards with faster 18Gbit/s memory modules. They should be released in May, but that has not yet been officially confirmed.
