AMD made its recently announced Radeon 300 graphics cards available today. The new video cards are equipped with GPUs from the 200 series, but the clock speeds and memory sizes have been adjusted for better performance.

According to AMD, the new video cards are not only rebrands, because optimizations have also been made in the microcode and the 28nm process has also become more mature. In addition, AMD is installing a new cooler, although video card manufacturers will undoubtedly replace it with their own copies.

The fastest two video cards in the series, the R9 390 and 390X, are codenamed Grenada and use the same GPU as the R9 290 and 290X. The working memory is 8GB, while the 290 and 290X are also available with 4GB of memory. The clock frequency of the GPU has increased by 50MHz in both cases. The R9 390 will have a suggested retail price of 355 euros, while the 390X should cost 459 euros.

A step lower in the ranking is the R9 380, with Antigua GPU, better known as Tonga. The clock speeds of the gpu and memory have also been increased slightly with this video card and variants with 2 and 4 GB frame buffers will also appear on the market. The R9 285 was initially only available with 2GB of memory. The R9 380 has a suggested retail price of 213 euros.

In the R7 series, AMD releases the 370 and 360, which also have well-known GPUs at higher clock frequencies. The R7 370 is the only video card still based on the gcn 1.0 architecture and therefore does not support the TrueAudio and CrossFire without bridges introduced at the end of 2013. The R7 260 does support those functions and will be available for 117 euros, while the R7 370 will go on sale for 162 euros. The video cards must be available immediately.
