AMD Releases Beta Driver With Optimizations For Project Cars And The Witcher 3
AMD has with some delay released Catalyst 15.5 beta, an updated driver for AMD video cards. The driver has to deal with the poor graphics performance of AMD hardware in the games The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Project Cars.
Specifically, the new Catalyst driver offers updates to the display driver and the Catalyst Control Center, AMD reports. According to the manufacturer, the driver should deliver significantly better graphics performance in The Witcher 3 and Project Cars. With The Witcher 3, the performance would increase by about 10 percent if an R9 or R7 series video card with one GPU is used. Project Cars would increase frame rates by about 17 percent.
AMD has also released an optimization guide for The Witcher 3. There is also a new Crossfire profile for The Witcher 3. In addition, AMD advises gamers who want to play Project Cars in a Crossfire setup to turn off anti-aliasing to prevent graphic errors.
