AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT launches August 11 for $379 suggested retail price
AMD has officially announced its Radeon RX 6600 XT video card, and manufacturers will be releasing their versions from August 11. The suggested retail price is $379. The GPU has 32 compute units and is equipped with 8GB GDDR6 memory.
The Game Clock of the RX 6600 XT is set to 2359MHz and the GPU is combined with 32MB Infinity Cache. According to AMD, the card has a total board power of 160W, which means that one 8-pin connection is enough to power video cards with the new GPU.
AMD aims with the Radeon RX 6600 XT at gamers who play on a 1080p monitor. In its presentation, AMD tries to convince players who now have a GeForce GTX 1060, the most popular video card among Steam users. According to AMD, the RX 6600 XT is 2.2 to 2.5 faster than that Nvidia GPU in games like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Forza Horizon 4.
ASRock, Asus, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire, XFX and Yeston will release video cards based on the RX 6600 XT GPU on August 11. AMD lists a suggested retail price of $379, but the price will depend on the version and what manufacturers are asking for it. AMD does not release its own reference model.
