AMD has announced that it will release a new Catalyst driver this week that will include optimizations for the Project Cars racing game. Nvidia GPUs currently perform significantly better with the racing game.

Roy Taylor, CEO of AMD, has let via Twitter know that the hardware manufacturer will soon release a new Catalyst driver that should improve the performance of the Project Cars game. Numerous benchmarks have shown that the racing game has run less smoothly on Radeon GPUs. The announced driver update should change that.

Rumor has it that Project Cars developers optimized the game for Nvidia hardware. However, Slightly Mad Studios states that Nvidia was much more closely involved in the development of the game, such as updates to alpha and beta versions.
