AMD introduces Athlon 200GE dualcore with Vega 3-gpu
AMD adds a new budget processor with integrated GPU to its product range. The Athlon 200GE has two Zen cores and a Vega 3 GPU. The AM4 processor comes on the market for a suggested retail price of $ 55.
AMD positions the Athlon 200GE against the Intel Pentium G4560 and as the successor of the A6-9500E. The 200GE is the first Athlon processor based on the Zen architecture. AMD uses Zen cores of the first generation, which are made at 14nm. The Athlon 200GE has two cores with smt, allowing the processor to work on four threads simultaneously. The clock speed is 3.2 GHz and there is no turbo to increase it.
The graphical part consists of the Vega 3 GPU with three compute units . AMD also uses the same GPU in the Ryzen 3 2200U laptop processor. The previously released Ryzen 3 2200G quadcore for desktops has a Vega 8 GPU with eight compute units.
AMD compares its new Athlon processor with the Intel Pentium G4560 dualcore in its own benchmarks. The Athlon performs at the level of the CPU about the same as the Intel chip, but the igpu is more powerful. In 720p resolutions at low settings, framerates of 60fps or higher are achievable in games such as Dota 2, Rocket League and Overwatch. With a discrete GPU, the Athlon apu performs slightly less than the Pentium.

AMD also announces a Pro version of its Athlon 200GE apu and introduces Pro versions at the same time of the Ryzen 5 2600, Ryzen 7 2700 and Ryzen 7 2700X. The Pro versions are intended for the business market and AMD guarantees among other things that the relevant processors will be available for at least two years.
