AMD dual-gpu card appears to be getting Cooler Master water cooling
Evidence has surfaced online about the arrival of a video card codenamed Fiji Gemini. AMD previously used the Gemini name for dual GPU cards. The upcoming card looks set to feature Cooler Master’s water cooling, just like the Radeon R9 Fury X.
AMD already announced in mid-June that a new card with two Fiji GPUs should be released in the fall, and from shipping information from the Indian import and export database Zauba, WccfTech now concludes that a release is not long in coming. The information mentions a Fiji Gemini. Gemini, from the constellation Gemini, is the name that AMD previously also stuck on dual-Gpu cards.
The cards would be shipped in limited edition on October 1 from Canada, where AMD’s Radeon branch is located. The information also indicates that the card contains a Cooler Master heatsink. It is probably an all-in-one water cooling set from Cooler Master; AMD also uses it for its R9 Fury X. It is not known what adjustments have been made to the water cooler to support these two GPUs.
The information in the database also includes the term ‘tobermory’. This is a town in Canada near Toronto.
