AMD announces Ryzen PRO processors for business laptops and desktops
AMD has announced three desktop and six laptop processors in its PRO line of business processors. The processor designer mainly shows off the ‘AI engine’, the first of its kind for X86 processors, the company claims.
The ‘Ryzen AI engine’ is only on laptop processors of this generation, says AMD. The desktop versions of the Ryzen PRO processors have to make do without that feature. The AI engine is also included in the consumer versions of the laptops, but cannot be found in the previous generation PRO processors.
The PRO versions of the processors are intended for business products and are not available for consumers. Differences include power consumption and security options. The first processors should be in machines from HP and Lenovo this month, AMD says.
