Amazon Studios is working on a God of War live-action television series

Amazon Studios is working on a God of War live-action television series. Amazon’s film and series division is working together with Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions. When the series will appear and which actors are part of the cast is not yet clear.

According to American film magazine Variety television writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will join the project as screenwriters. Fergus and Ostby have previously worked on films such as Children of Men, Iron Man and Cowboys & Aliens for which they wrote the screenplays. Writer and producer Rafe Judkins would become the series’ showrunner and one of the executive producers. Judkins previously served as a screenwriter on the 2022 Uncharted film and was also a screenwriter and executive producer on The Wheel of Time series.

The upcoming television series follows the life of Kratos, the God of War who lives in exile in Norse Midgard. One day his wife dies and Kratos sets out to scatter her ashes over the highest mountain peaks. He takes his son Atreus with him and during this journey the two have to overcome many obstacles.
