Amazon releases Alexa app for Windows 10

Amazon has released an app to use Alexa’s digital assistant on Windows 10 PCs. The app is in the Microsoft Store.  In the United States, the app is a free download.  Microsoft’s digital assistant Cortana has been able to communicate for a while with Alexa. Cortana also works on the Xbox One .

The app has some limitations, writes The Verge . Calling, video calling and Spotify do not work in the Alexa app, but smarthome integration is included. Alexa competes as a digital assistant with Google Assistant, Microsoft Cortana, Apple Siri and Samsung Bixby.
