Amazon has announced it plans to hire more workers in Europe this year. For example, the company wants to increase the number of employees from 50,000 to 65,000. The jobs should be suitable for people with different levels of education and knowledge.

Amazon reports that it is looking for engineers and developers, as well as people who want entry-level jobs. It indicates that many of the jobs are in its new fulfillment centers, where products are stored and shipped from. The company builds these centers in France, Germany and the UK, among others.

According to the company, it increased the number of employees in Europe from 40,000 to 50,000 last year. Amazon now claims to have more than 100 offices, fulfillment centers, customer service locations and AWS data centers. This includes fifteen development centers, where the company develops services such as apps and device software. Amazon also wants to hire more staff in the US. In January, the company announced that it plans to hire 100,000 employees over the next year and a half.

Amazon has a large number of employees in Germany, according to previous reports about ten thousand employees. There, the service regularly has to deal with strikes among employees of the distribution centers; this often happens around the Christmas period. The employees are dissatisfied with collective labor agreements and the high workload.
