‘Amazon makes Ring 3 Plus video doorbell with Foresight function’
Amazon is working on a Ring 3 Plus video doorbell with the ability to see four seconds before the software reported motion, according to product pages published online. There will also be a Ring 3 without that feature.
The feature called Foresight continuously records images in low-resolution black and white. That is to save battery, reports Zatz Not Funny based on product pages that would have been online. Those pages are now gone.
Both new doorbells will have a feature to only notify when the software detects motion close by, ignoring motion further away. This should prevent unnecessary notifications. The distance that can be set is between 1.5 and 4.5 meters. The video doorbells have slightly different sizes than the current version, but the difference is not great. The site is betting that the prices will be $199 and $229. Amazon has not responded to the rumor.
