Amazon makes Echo speaker microphone and software available as devkit
Amazon is making the Alexa 7-Mic Far-Field Development Kit available to system builders. This allows them to easily integrate the Alexa voice assistant into their own hardware. In addition to hardware, it concerns the software of the Echo.
The development kit consists of the seven microphones of the Echo speaker, Amazon’s software for speech recognition, noise reduction and echo cancellation and the reference software for control and communication with the Alexa Voice Service.
Manufacturers can already integrate support for Amazon’s Alexa into their devices. During the CES electronics fair in Las Vegas at the beginning of this year, it was noted that many manufacturers are now switching to this. According to Amazon, tools to make this possible are in high demand and the devkit should ensure that companies can do this faster and cheaper.
The Alexa 7-Mic Far-Field Development Kit will be available by invitation initially. System builders must register for this.
