Amazon is working on game streaming service
Amazon is developing a game streaming service and the company is negotiating with game publishers to distribute games through the service. That is what The Information claims based on sources.
Amazon’s game streaming service will come at the earliest next year, reports one of the two sources The Information has about the arrival of the service. The site has not yet announced further details about the service. The arrival of a game streaming service from Amazon would not be completely surprising.
The company bought the Twitch service in August 2014, which is popular for video streaming about games and it already offers streaming services for music and video. In addition, Amazon is the market leader in the cloud computing market with AWS.
Moreover, Amazon is not the only major party that wants to offer game streams. It would compete with EA, Microsoft’s xCloud, Google’s Project Stream, Sony’s PlayStation Now and Nvidia’s GeForce Now if it releases a game service.
