Amazon Games will release new Tomb Raider game

Amazon Games will publish the upcoming Tomb Raider game. The game is currently still in development and is made by Crystal Dynamics. It is not yet known when exactly the game will be released.

In a joint press release Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics claim the game will be “the largest, most comprehensive Tomb Raider game yet.” Just like with the previous Tomb Raider games, the game will contain ‘brain-bending puzzles’. In addition, ‘a wide variety of enemies’ will be added. The companies provide few details about the game, which is still in its early stages of development. It was previously announced that the new Tomb Raider will be made in Unreal Engine 5.

The previous game in the series, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, was released in 2018 for Windows, Linux, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The previous Tomb Raider games were published by Square Enix. The publisher acquired Eidos Interactive, which owned Crystal Dynamics, in 2009. Earlier this year, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix Montréal were sold to Embracer Group. The Swedish company also took over the studios’ intellectual properties.
