Amazon Games is going to release new Tomb Raider game

Amazon Games is set to publish the upcoming Tomb Raider game. The game is currently still in development and is being made by Crystal Dynamics. It is not yet known when the game should be released exactly.

In a joint press release Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics claim the game will be “the largest, most comprehensive Tomb Raider game to date.” As with the previous Tomb Raider games, the game will feature “brain-bending puzzles.” In addition, “a wide variety of enemies” will be added. The companies provide few further details about the game, which is still in its early stages of development. It was previously announced that the new Tomb Raider will be made in Unreal Engine 5.

The previous game in the series, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, was released in 2018 for Windows, Linux, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The previous Tomb Raider games were published by Square Enix. The publisher acquired Eidos Interactive in 2009, which owned Crystal Dynamics. Earlier this year, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix Montréal were sold to Embracer Group. The Swedish company also took over the intellectual properties of the studios.
