Alleged photos of the Google Pixel 8 Pro prototype appear online
Alleged photos of a prototype of the Google Pixel 8 Pro have been published on Reddit. Various specifications can be determined from this and an indication of the design of the device can be seen. Google is expected to announce the Pixel 8 series this fall.
The images allegedly show a test version of the Google Pixel 8 Pro, like this writes the Reddit user in an already deleted post, thus Droid Life. The device’s screen shows the code name ‘husky’, which is reportedly the code name for the device in question. The code name ‘Zuma’ also reveals information, because this would be the name of the Tensor G3 SoC. Based on the photos, the device appears to indeed have a flat screen, which was previously reported by those involved.
Furthermore, it can be concluded from the boot screen that the device will be available in a configuration with 12GB Lpddr5 ram from Samsung and 128GB storage space made by SK Hynix. This corresponds to the specifications of the current Google Pixel 7 Pro.
There are also many similarities with previous generations of Pixel smartphones in terms of design, although everything can of course still change because it is a prototype. The photos show a camera island with three lenses in one housing. In the Pixel 7 Pro, the three lenses are divided into two compartments in the overall island. Finally, a new sensor can be seen under the flash LED: an infrared sensor for measuring temperatures. Several leakers previously talked about this sensor.
