Alleged image of compact Radeon R9 390X comes online
An image of what may be the upcoming Radeon R9 390X has surfaced on the internet. The card would be very compact for a high-end model thanks to high bandwidth memory. An image of the possible Fiji XT GPU also appeared.
The image published by Wccftech appears to be from a video and shows a compact card with a metal casing and the Radeon name shown in red. Remarkably enough, there is no fan in sight, but a radiator does seem to be visible in the background. Earlier rumors already spoke of water cooling for the new cards from AMD and the compact dimensions of the high-end card are possible due to the use of high bandwidth memory. During its analyst meeting, AMD already hinted that the use of hbm would provide new form factors.
The dualslot card contains three display ports and HDMI. In addition, an image of what may have been a render of part of the Fiji XT GPU has appeared. This GPU will power the Radeon R9 390X. AMD may officially announce the cards during the Computex fair in Taiwan, which takes place in June.
