Alien: Isolation developer has been working on a new sci-fi shooter for four years
Creative Assembly, the developer of Alien: Isolation, has been working on a new sci-fi themed first-person shooter for four years now. The game takes place in a completely new world and is not based on existing intellectual properties.
The new game is being made by the team that also released Alien: Isolation. This is evident from an interview from Edge magazine with Creative Assembly. The makers emphasize that this is a completely new game and that it has been working on it since 2018. No title has been set yet and it is not clear when the sci-fi shooter will appear. No images of the game have been released yet.
Alistair Hope, creative director of the studio, says a lot of attention is paid to detail and authenticity. Also, the team would go to great lengths to “understand the source material,” but Hope does not clarify what this source material is. Creative Assembly chief product officer Rob Bartholomew emphasizes that this is a ‘new IP’.
Creative Assembly is best known for its strategy games in the Total War series. The British studio released Alien: Isolation in 2014. This is a first person game in which players have to survive aboard a spaceship full of hostile aliens. The game came out for the PC and consoles and has appeared for numerous platforms over the years. Since the end of last year, the game is also available on Android and iOS.
