Aldi puts new 9.7 “tablet in the store on Saturday
On Saturday, Aldi will put a new Medion Lifetab tablet on the shelves. The tablet has Android 4.0 on board, has 16GB of storage and has an IPS screen with a screen diagonal of 9.7 “. The tablet will cost 300 euros.
The Medion Lifetab MD99200 will be on sale from Saturday in all Aldi branches, the retailer has announced. 300 euros must be debited for the tablet; in exchange for that amount of money, buyers receive a tablet of 24.7 by 18.5 centimeters and a thickness of 8.9 millimeters. The tablet weighs 580 grams and has an IPS screen of 9.7 inches on board, which can display a resolution of 1024×768 pixels.
The tablet has Android version 4.0 on board; until version 4.1 codenamed Jellybean comes out next month, that will be the latest Android version. The device has 16GB of internal storage; a maximum of 16GB can be added with a microSD card. The present OMAP 4430 processor is from Texas Instruments, which does its job at 1GHz.
Medion promises that the battery of the device will last a maximum of ten hours. The tablet also has WiFi-n, inputs for microUSB and microHDMI and a GPS sensor. Medion also promises good sound quality, thanks to two speakers and two real subwoofers, and there is access to Google’s Play Store.
There is also USB host functionality. This allows keyboards to be connected and information to be read and written to and from USB sticks.
