Alcatel shows ‘affordable’ smartwatches under the name Watch

Alcatel presented its first smartwatch series on Friday under the name Watch. With this, the manufacturer says it offers a premium watch for an affordable price, although Alcatel has not yet announced a price.

Alcatel promises to come in the Watch series with smartwatches that cost ‘a fraction’ compared to competitors. The watches are available in different flavors. For example, there seem to be variants with metal and rubber straps.

Alcatel is not generous about the technical specifications. The manufacturer only releases that the Watch watches can connect to Android smartphones. In addition, the watches offer a heart rate sensor and they can receive and display notifications. Finally, the devices can control a phone’s music player and camera.

Alcatel reports during the CES fair, which starts Monday, to reveal more about the Watch series. Then Alcatel will also show its new Pixi 3 smartphone, which will be available in different sizes and can run three mobile operating systems. This concerns Windows Phone, Android and Firefox OS.
