Ajax wins first Fifa 17 competition between Eredivisie football clubs
In the first season in the Eredivisie for club teams in football game Fifa 17, Ajax became national champion. Dani Hagebeuk won all his matches on behalf of Ajax, and cannot be overtaken by the competition in the remaining matches.
Ajax player Hagebeuk defeated SC Heerenveen 4-0 in the fourteenth match, while the competition was unable to win. That means that Ajax has become national champion in the so-called E-division. It is the first season that this digital Fifa 17 competition is played. The matches do not run simultaneously with those in the Eredivisie: the E-division started in February and 14 matches have now been played.
Matches from the E-division can be viewed via YouTube and Twitch, but are also broadcast via the sports channel Fox Sports. All Eredivisie clubs participate in the digital competition. Currently, Go Ahead Eagles is in last place, just like in the Eredivisie.
In the digital football competition, gamers who are actually employed by the relevant clubs have the option of putting together their own team. This means that the digital teams do not necessarily have to use the players they also have in the real football competition. The E-Division actually wanted to play with the original teams and give these players all the same ‘rating’, but EA didn’t allow that.
