It is mainly a matter of patience, and then it will happen automatically. Although – of course… There are some things to keep in mind.

• The AirTag must be linked to your iPhone.
• The AirTag should be near your iPhone. That may sound logical, but maybe your AirTag is standard in your backpack or suitcase in the attic. So bring him along.

So it is not possible to actively update. However, you can easily check whether you have the latest version.

• Open the Find My app.
• Go to the ‘Objects’ tab.
• Tap the AirTag on the screen.
• Tap the battery icon.
• The battery icon changes. The serial number appears with the firmware below it.
