Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition gets co-op mode
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition has received a co-op mode. This allows players to recreate historical battles together. There is a choice of twelve scenarios, including the DLCs. To play the DLCs in co-op, only one player needs to own them.
After downloading the update, the co-op mode can be found in the historical battle menu and in the multiplayer menu, the developer writes on Steam. The scenarios that players can play together include a story and goals, narration and cutscenes. According to the developers, the AI has been modified so that it is better able to fight against two opponents.
All Historical Battles in the game have been made suitable for co-op. Six of them are available in the base version of the game. The other six are part of paid DLCs and can be played if at least one of the players owns the relevant DLC. Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition was released in October 2020 but had no co-op mode until now. The later Age of Empires IV did have it at release.
