Microsoft may soon announce a Definitive Edition of Age of Empires II. That’s related to a page that came online at The American Entertainment Software Rating Board. When the Definitive Edition will be announced is still unknown.

The rating of the updated 1999 edition of the original game was posted online on the ESRB’s site, where the game is given a ‘Teen’ rating. Microsoft announced two years ago at Gamescom that they would also provide part two and three of the series with a Definitive Edition. Then Age of Empires IV was also announced. It is not yet clear whether the additional content from the original version and the HD remake of Age of Empires II will also be found in the Definitive Edition.

The Definitive Edition of Age of Empires was released last February and became the third version of the October 1997 original. The difference between the Definitive Edition and the HD remake can be found in better quality of the graphics, some minor gameplay changes and a revamped soundtrack.
