Age of Doom mod is cross between Age of Empires 2 and the original Doom

A mod maker has made Age of Doom available. That’s a cross between Age of Empires 2 and the original Doom. This modification for Age of Empires 2 turns Doom into a kind of isometric strategy shooter.

The creator of Age of Doom describes his mod as a remake of the original Doom with its own perspective and the game engine from Age of Empires 2. In his eyes, it has become a third-person shooter.

Age of Doom offers a new, unique Doom campaign that incorporates aspects of the original 1993 Doom and 2004 Doom 3, such as sounds, sprites and recognizable enemy monsters. There is also a tutorial with an open playing field where players can master the basic mechanics and system. The campaign consists of four chapters and a fifth is yet to come.

The mod maker named Hellknight61 is a scenario designer for the Age of Empires 2 community and he says he always wanted to create a Doom campaign for this engine. Age of Doom uses the Vampire Revenge mod for Age of Empires 2.
