Adobe releases free Photoshop Camera app for Android and iOS
Adobe has announced the Photoshop Camera mobile app. Available for free for iOS and Android, the app offers some basic editing capabilities, but focuses primarily on using filters and lenses.
Photoshop Camera brings “the magic of Photoshop” to a camera app, according to Adobe. At the same time, the company makes it clear that the app is all about easy use of lenses, filters and effects. However, there are some editing options, such as options to improve the exposure in portraits and remove noise. In addition, users can, for example, adjust contrast and color saturation.
The app should automate adjustments as much as possible and Adobe emphasizes artificial intelligence, which, for example, provides suggestions for effects or filters. The effects are already visible the moment the user wants to take the photo, but can also be applied afterwards. There is no video support.
In November last year, Adobe made a trial version of Photoshop Camera available to users who signed up for it. The company also released a Photoshop app for the iPad at the time. It is more extensive and should eventually have the same functionality as the full version, but is also a paid app via a subscription. With the free Photoshop Camera app, Adobe wants to be able to bind more users to its products and services.
