Adobe is adding more features from the desktop version of Photoshop to the iPad version of the image editing package. With a new update, the Refine Edge Brush is available, as is the Rotate Canvas feature.

With the Refine Edge Brush it is possible to make precise selections of, for example, hair. This works by painting over it with a brush and then refining the selection with settings. The tool makes it possible to isolate people and animals from the background.

Rotate Canvas is the method that allows users to rotate the image they are working on without having to dive into menus. With the iPad version, this works by placing two fingers on the screen and then rotating it. Zooming in or out at the same time is possible by making a pinch movement.

The features now coming to the iPad version of Photoshop have been available in the PC version for some time now. At the end of last year, Adobe brought Photoshop to Apple’s tablets with the promise that it would be a full version of the image editing package. Many functions were initially missing. Adobe has added functionality several times with updates.
