Adobe adds PDF editing tools to its Acrobat extension for Chrome and Edge

Adobe has updated its Acrobat extension for Chrome and Edge browsers. This makes it possible to directly apply multiple edits to PDFs from the browser.

Adobe writes that the Acrobat extension makes it possible to quickly fill in entry fields or place comments and signatures in PDF files from a browser window. Printing and downloading PDF files and placing markers are also possible with the extension. This extension is separate from the web version of Acrobat and the desktop client.

Some more advanced operations are not part of the free extension, such as converting a PDF to a Microsoft Word file, converting web pages to PDF, or rotating, deleting, or rearranging individual PDF pages. This kind of functionality requires a paid subscription to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

It seems that this Acrobat extension was already available in August, although Adobe is only now paying attention to the extension and its more extensive possibilities. Previously it was only possible to convert web pages to PDF with this extension, which can also be done with the browser via the print tools.
