Adata's XPG shows prototype of its own handheld with replaceable RAM
During Computex 2024, Adata will be showing a new handheld that it will release under its brand name XPG. For the time being this is only a prototype, but the plan is to bring the device onto the market in 2025.
A special feature of the handheld is the screen that can fold up. This makes it possible to put the device down, but still see the screen clearly. This can be useful, for example, if the console is operated with an external gamepad or mouse.
Furthermore, XPG emphasizes replaceability. This makes it possible to replace the working memory via a flap at the back of the device. The standard Camm2-Lpddr5x modules can therefore be replaced by something with a higher capacity.
The prototype includes an AMD Ryzen Z1 Phoenix processor, but the device should include a next-generation CPU when released in 2025. What the handheld will cost has not yet been announced.
